SK Ministry of Energy & Resources requests feedback

The SK Ministry of Energy and Resources released draft of legislation, The Oil and Gas Emissions Management Regulation (OGEMR).

According to their website, "the proposed regulation is intended to provide an overall reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from associated gas vented and flared at oil facilities. The OGEMR will only apply to companies that have aggregate potential total emissions of greater than 50,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) per year from the facilities in which they are the licensee."

The new legislation is expected to come into effect in the fall of 2018, and comments can be submitted until Friday, June 29, 2018.
